How to play
-
1Pick a mode
Progressive: no clock, three lives. Timed: as many as you can in 60 seconds.
-
2Tap the odd tile
One tile is a slightly different shade. Find it.
-
3It gets harder
Every find adds tiles and shrinks the difference. A miss costs a life, or 3 seconds in Timed.
Take in the whole grid
Don’t check tile by tile. Look at everything at once and let the odd one pop out.
Brightness up
Turn your screen brightness up and avoid glare on the display.
Keep still
Move your eyes, not your head. Viewing angle shifts colors on some screens.
What does it train?
It’s a just-noticeable difference test: the smallest change in color you can detect. Past about twenty finds, the differences get close to the limits of a typical screen and eye.
Why do scores vary between devices?
Screens differ in brightness, contrast, and color accuracy, and room lighting matters too. Compare your scores on the same screen.
