Saturation
How vivid or intense a color is, from gray (none) to the purest version of the hue.
Also called saturated, desaturated
Saturation measures how much of the hue is present. Fully saturated colors are vivid; as saturation drops they fade toward gray.
Muted, low-saturation colors are restful and work well for backgrounds; saturated colors draw attention and make good accents.
