Pantone
A standardized system of numbered ink colors, used so a color prints the same everywhere.
Also called Pantone Matching System, PMS, Pantone color, Pantone colors
The Pantone Matching System (PMS) is a library of numbered, pre-mixed ink colors such as PANTONE 2195 C. A printer anywhere can mix the same ink from the number.
Pantone colors are spot colors, so many cannot be reproduced exactly in CMYK or on screen. Our tools show the nearest Pantone match for any color.
